History of Sheikh Hashi Foundation
The Hashi Foundation started its work in 1974 when it was helping the people displaced by the prolonged wars and droughts and resettlement in the areas of Kurutunwaray Sabalale and Dajuma which greatly helped them in the field of agriculture and how to cope with them. new areas. which have been settled for the people suffering from drought.
The Hashi Foundation was also helping to prevent the sand from spreading in the fields while working with the government administration, it was also helping to improve basic education. The students he taught today are officials in the country.
He also used to do something to help the poor people who have nothing and are unable to get married, which until now the Hashi Foundation is famous for, the children who were born in the Hashi Foundation centers are now living at a high level. She worked in the construction of maternity and child hospitals especially in Marka, Bulo Marer, Golweyn, Kurtunwaray and Sablaale districts.

The central government requested the Sheikh Hashi Foundation that the land it owned in Kurtunwaarey district be financed by the World Bank to help the people under Hashi Foundation, and that work started in 1986. The ongoing work has been destroyed by the central government, and a part of the land has been prepared and is still working.
It also helped the people when the civil war started. Sheikh Hashi’s organization established camps for displaced people in Buulo Mareer and Mukay dumis areas and Kurtuwaarey district.
The Sheikh Hashi Foundation is the first organization to start a kitchen so that people can have enough food to live on, and it was awarded by the ICRC in 1992.
The ICRC and other aid agencies including MSF have been welcomed in the Lower Shabelle region, The Hashi Foundation has also worked to bring peace to the civil war in the Lower Shabelle region, and by conducting seminars for the people on how to prevent rape, robbery and looting of property as it had a large headquarters in the Lower Shabelle region, especially in the villages of Bulo Marer and Kurtunwarey, it was a place where the victims and the people displaced by the civil war found peace, as admitted by the ICRC and other aid agencies in the region.
The Sheikh Hashi Foundation also used to dig water wells to help the displaced people in those areas.
