ShiekhHashi Foundation (SHEHAFO) was founded in 1974 during the hunger disaster that struck the whole of Somalia in the aftermath of the civil wars during that time a group of learned, scholastic, and responsible Somali men met and discussed the problems facing the Somali community especially and the target group.After several meetings and fact-finding missions they came up with the idea of forming a local NGO to assist the needy, the Dip’s, and the target groups, through collaborations and working hand in hand in emergencies, development, rehabilitation, and other situations as a bridge between the beneficiaries and the international AID agencies and international NGO’s who were helping the displaced, starving and suffering communities in the country,

the thus SHEHAFO was born and founded by a group of indigenous, problem conscious Somali citizens.
